As Pirouline was driven to her last resting place that I won't talk about 'cause I don't think it's legal :-/ ... I was telling myself that I have to find a way to "dispose" (I don't like that word) of the animals' body when they pass.
I don't want it to "insensitive". I want it to be something we can see, a place when we can remember but I also want it to be a place where we can go to remember them.
In winter, it's impossible to bury the animals, the soil is deep frozen and it's quite hard to deal with.
I want a place that would be like a sanctuary. A place where I could go and think about them and show them even if death, how important and meaningful they have all been to me.
I am thinking of different ways. If one of you, my dear readers, have a suggestion or a solution for me. Please comment in the comment section.

ReplyDeleteOne of my cats and a friend's cat are buried in a portion of a flower garden. I have a St Francis statue there as he is known as the patron saint of animals. You can plant flowers or herbs that remind you of the animal in some way, perhaps by color or scent or shape. Or even by name such as catmint, horstail, etc.
It's hard losing part of your furbaby family but as long as you have them in your memory they are always with you.

Delete1st Man suggested I adopt you. I have barn cats too. Also 2 inside chihuahua's. 'they are both older and I do not look forward to their passing. I understand your heart sore. I am a counselor but that makes passing of my furry ones that much more difficult;

I have 4 crepe myrtles in a corner of my yard. Underneath each rests a kitty. When Grey Kitty passed in a Cold December a few years back, the nurseryman went and got one out of storage for me.
